The Problem

Flare and Songbird networks needed more infrastructure. The oracle data, analytics, and metrics that the network ran on existed in technical fragments no consumer-facing platform had brought the analysis, marketplace, and infrastructure tools together.

The challenge was bridging two very different audiences: technical validators who needed accurate time-series oracle data, and NFT collectors who needed a marketplace that felt accessible and culturally relevant.

The Solution

Flare Ocean offering analysis and metrics, providing the decentralized infrastructure, and making sure the time-series database was rapid, accurate, and incentivized. Plus a marketplace for the NFTs that were booming at the time.

Analysis and metrics, oracle infrastructure, and the NFT marketplace all unified under one platform and one visual language.

The Approach

The client gave me free creative space to create, which is rare in the Web3 space and should always be used well. I liked how the client gave me that freedom; it led to something distinctive in a space where most crypto products look identical.

Working with classic Figma plugin workflows like Iconify for the icon system, Content Reel for realistic data population, After Effects for motion concepts and combining them with custom Illustrator work for the brand assets gave the product a texture that template-built Web3 UIs cannot replicate.

The Outcome

The platform launched during an active period for both the Flare network and the NFT market. It was so good back in the day. The design held up across both audiences validators appreciated the data clarity, collectors appreciated the aesthetic.

Looking back, this was really good. Creative freedom on a Web3 project is rare, and that freedom showed in the final product.

Iterations
01

Simplified the oracle metrics dashboard after data providers found the initial visualization too abstract for operational use

02

Expanded NFT card design to surface more metadata at a glance collection, floor price, last sale reducing clicks needed to reach a purchase decision
